This email is to inform you about the release of version '4.8' of 'GNU
texinfo' through freshmeat.net. All URLs and other useful information can

The changes in this release are as follows:
This release adds several new commands, such as "@euro", "@abbr", and
"@slanted". HTML output of makeinfo has been enhanced for backward
and XHTML compatibility. Docbook output now recognizes more image
formats. texi2dvi has a new option "--recode". The texi2pdf script
has been added for convenience. Some build enhancements have been
integrated.

"Texinfo" is a documentation system that uses a single source to
produce both on-line information (info, HTML, XML, Docbook) and
printed output (DVI, PDF).
